Najaf Friday Imam: Martyred Imam Khamenei Founded Doctrine of Axis of Resistance, Jihad of Clarification

The Friday Prayer Leader of Najaf has paid a glowing tribute to the legacy of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the foundational architect of two pivotal Islamic doctrines: the Axis of Resistance and the Jihad of Clarification.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Friday Prayer Leader of Najaf has paid a glowing tribute to the legacy of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, describing Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the foundational architect of two pivotal Islamic doctrines: the Axis of Resistance and the Jihad of Clarification.

Delivering his sermon at the Grand Fatimiyya Husseiniya in holy Najaf, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Sadruddin Qabanchi reflected on the recent Israeli atrocities in Lebanon while emphasizing the unwavering continuity of the Islamic Revolution under its new leadership.

Addressing the ongoing tragedy in Lebanon, Qabanchi stated, "The catastrophe in Lebanon has laid bare the barbarism of Zionism. We extend our deepest condolences and solidarity to the people of Lebanon, particularly the Shia community. We stand with you; remain patient and steadfast, for perhaps Allah will bring victory or a decree from His own presence."

He drew a parallel between the current Zionist aggression and the words of Imam Hussein (PBUH) on the Day of Ashura, citing the Imam's refusal to allow women and children to be harmed: "I fight you and you fight me, but the women bear no guilt." Qabanchi noted that after failing to dismantle Hezbollah, the Zionist entity now resorts to brutal assaults on homes and families.

Turning to internal Iraqi affairs, the cleric expressed cautious optimism regarding the upcoming parliamentary session to elect a new president, hoping for a successful outcome that leads to the formation of a government under the "Coordination Framework."

'They Sought to Topple Iran; It Became a Great Power'

In a powerful segment of his address, Qabanchi assessed the outcomes of the recent 40-day war and broader regional tensions. "Who is the victor in this battle? Ultimately, truth has prevailed," he asserted. "They sought to topple Iran, and it transformed into a formidable power. They sought to sow discord, and the Iranian people became more unified. They sought to marginalize religion, and faith led the Iranian streets with the slogans 'Do not fear, do not grieve' and 'Hayhat Minna al-Dhilla' (Never to Humiliation)."

The Najaf Friday Prayer Leader also expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for facilitating the transit of Iraqi oil tankers.

Imam Khamenei: Architect of Resistance and Enlightenment

Marking the 40th day since the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei, Qabanchi dedicated a significant portion of his sermon to analyzing the late Leader's intellectual and strategic contributions. "The martyred Imam Khamenei was a personality who successfully steered the Islamic Revolution in Iran for 37 years," Qabanchi stated. "He is the founder of the doctrine of the Axis of Resistance and the founder of the doctrine of Jihad of Clarification."

He elaborated that while the late Imam Khomeini (RA) launched the grand projects of the "Islamic Ummah Movement" and the "Export of the Islamic Revolution," it was Imam Khamenei who subsequently established the concrete frameworks of "Resistance" and "Clarification."

Quoting Quranic verses on unified struggle against polytheists and the imperative to verify news brought by transgressors, Qabanchi explained that Imam Khamenei made "Tabyin" (Clarification) a binding duty for all believers to immunize the masses against misleading media propaganda.

Describing the martyred Leader's character, Qabanchi painted a portrait of a role model embodying "patience, courage, jurisprudence, political acumen, piety, and absolute trust in God."

Remembering Martyr Sadr's Intellectual Legacy

Concluding his religious discourse on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (PBUH), Qabanchi emphasized the importance of steadfastness in faith after guidance. He also commemorated the legacy of Martyr Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr.

"Beyond his jurisprudential status and Marja'iyyah, Martyr Sadr was the pioneer of an Islamic intellectual confrontation with deviant contemporary materialist thought, with his works 'Our Philosophy' and 'Our Economy' at the forefront," Qabanchi noted. "He was also the founder of activating the role of scholars in the social arena."

He drew comparisons to the parallel movements in Iran led by Allameh Tabatabai and Martyr Morteza Motahhari in the intellectual field, and Imam Khomeini in the political sphere.
